Under this system, a year consists of 26 months, each lasting 14 days, with each month represented by a letter of the alphabet from A to Z.

Time within Desamber is measured in pulses, with each day divided into 1,000,000 of them. For instance, noon corresponds to 500:000, 6 AM to 250:000, and 6 PM to 750:000.

Devine explains that in the decimal format, the shortest pulse equates to 86.4 milliseconds, with further multiples being powers of 10. 1 beat comprises 1000 pulses, which translates to approximately 86.4 seconds or about 1 minute and 26 seconds, while a second relates to 11.57 short pulses.
